School Announcements and Reminders
- Tue., 10/6: NLCA Literature fair: Please see separate blog for information.
- Fri., 10/9: Grandparents' Day! Bring them to school at the regular time, please. The program begins at 10:00, and dismissal after the program will be around lunchtime.
- Mon., 10/12: Professional Learning (No Students)
- Fri., 10/23: End of 1st 9 Weeks
- Tue., 10/27: Picture Retakes and Volleyball/Club Pictures
Mon., Oct. 5: history test. It's a lot of information, so a study guide went home a week early.
Tues., Oct. 6: Literature Fair! Setup begins in the new gym as early as 7:15. Also, spelling homework.
Wed., Oct. 7: Math test
Thur., Oct. 8: spelling trial test, science test. (study guide on Monday)
Fri., Oct. 9: spelling second-chance test, reading vocabulary quiz, Bible memory quiz (all on the weekly handout). These will happen before the Grandparents' Day program, so be sure to come to school at the normal time.
Each student was given one stanza of the poem, "Freedom Isn't Free" for Grandparents Day. It has to be memorized.
Due Monday, October 19: Tree mini project: Students will choose one tree and collect a leaf or two, maybe a seed, do a bark rubbing, and write a paragraph about it. They'll mount everything on a small poster board. They can be gathering items now., and they'll have two weekends after the literature fair project to do it. This will count for both a science grade and a language grade (for the paragraph).
