Literature Fair October 6!

     I'm creating a separate blog about this because at NLCA, it is required that sixth graders participate in the literature fair.

    The date for the NLCA fair is October 6, so the students need to be choosing a book now.  Some have already told me which one they want to read.

    The students have to read the entire book, so it should be something on their level: not too difficult, and not too easy.  They need to show me the book.

    Also, the rules say that the project is to be completed by the student.  Adults may advise, but the board has to be their own work. They also have to stand in front of the board and give a short presentation.

    Some have said they want to work with a partner, and that's allowed, but it should be taken into consideration that 2 copies of the book would be needed, and they would be responsible for making arrangements to get together to work on the project.

    While I may provide them with silent reading time at school, the projects are to be done at home.
