Week of October 2

 Announcements/Reminders:

  • October 2Fundraiser calendars and money due.  Thank you SO MUCH for helping us raise funds for the school!
  • October 3: NLCA literature fair.  Students should be finished with their display boards and should be practicing giving a 3-5 minute talk about their books, which they'll give to the judges.
  • October 6: Grandparents' Day in the new gym, starting at 9:00.   We dismiss as soon as the program is over, and students will be signed out in their classrooms. There is no preset dismissal time on this day.
  • October 13: 2-hour early dismissal
  • October 25: end of the first 9 weeks!
  • October 27: field trip to the pumpkin farm!

Academics this week:

  • Please have your student practice the 3 and 4 times tables whenever you can fit it in. Flashcards are great, timestables.com has games, but you could also just have them recite them while riding in the car.
  • no reading homework this week
  • There was a language test scheduled for Tuesday, but I will move it to Wednesday. It isn't something that the students need to study for, and we'll go over the material in class.
  • Spelling: This week is busy, so there is no homework and no test. I will take a grade on a writing assignment using some of the spelling list words.  We will do this in class on Thursday
  • Thursday:  memory verse quiz on Proverbs 3:2.  I will go over it frequently in class and make sure they have a word bank.  It shouldn't be too hard.
