Week of November 28

I hope you enjoyed a break from the normal school routine, and that you and yours made some special Thanksgiving memories!

Reminders and announcements: 

• December 6: Parent/Teacher conferences, if desired.
• December 8:  Christmas play at 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM
• December 22: class party and 2-hour early release
• December 23:  no class, professional learning day
• December 26-January 2:  Christmas break!

Academics this week:  

• Mon:  no reading homework because they'll need to study for science.
• Tue:  tests in language and science 
• Spelling:  list 14.  Homework Tuesday night, trial test Thursday, final test Friday.
• Fri:  Bible memory verse quiz:  "In him was life, and the life was the light of men."  John 1:4

Week of November 14

 

Reminders and announcements: 

• Turkey in Disguise papers due back on Monday, if participating.
• Supplemental reading turkey paper may be turned in any time before break, if participating.
• Basketball practice: Monday, 3:00-5:00 (I don't know about Friday yet, but I will pass along that information as I receive it.)
• Twirling practice: Tuesday and Thursday, 3:00-4:00.
• Thanksgiving class party on Friday around 11:00.  Students may be picked up as soon as the party is over, around 12:30. (Mrs. Brammer is flexible. Please let me know if you have any questions via Class DoJo.)
• November 21-25:  Thanksgiving break
• December 8:  Christmas play at 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM.  We've been practicing, and it's going to be so wonderful!

• Monday: language quiz over comma and capitalization rules.
• Monday:  reading homework: pages 154 and 155 in the history book.
• Spelling: List 13.  Back to normal: Homework on Tuesday, trial test Thursday, final test Friday.
• Memory verse quiz Friday: all of Psalm 23

Reminders and announcements: 

• Students need to complete the work packet for Friday, November 4, and return it on Monday!
• Basketball practice: Monday, 3:00-5:00
• Twirling practice: Tuesday and Thursday, 3:00-4:00
• November 11:  Veterans' Day, no school
• November 21-25:  Thanksgiving break
• December 8:  Christmas play at 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM

Academics this week:  

• Monday: language test (finding nouns, types of sentences, using apostrophe- s)
• Monday:  reading homework: pages 36-38 in Among the Animals
• Tuesday:  history quiz
• Thursday:  history test  (study guides for both went home Thursday, Nov. 3)
• Spelling: List 12.  Homework on Tuesday, but no test this week.  In class, they will write sentences using spelling words, and I will grade that instead.
• Memory verse quiz Thursday: Psalm 23:1-5 We should finish the psalm right before Thanksgiving break.
