Week of March 27

                                                      Announcements and reminders:

• Friday, March 31 at 10 AM - Easter egg hunt at Brown House lawn!  Thank you for sending in the permission slips and eggs (a dozen per child), and please let me know if you want to help hide eggs that morning.
• Also Friday:  class Easter party in the afternoon.  The third graders want to have Little Caesar's pizza again, so I will get it for them.  They will have plenty of sweet treats in their eggs, so we probably don't need anything for dessert that day.
• April 3-10:  Easter Break (Return on Tuesday, the 11th)
• April 17:  no school for elementary because grades 7-12 have a Soul-Survivor event at school.  The campus will be closed to everyone else.
• April 21:  2-hour early dismissal

Academics this week, subject to change, as needed:  

• Reading homework this week: Secret in the Maple Tree, chapter 9, out loud to an adult.  Since students are reading entire chapters, they have the whole week to do it.  Please initial the calendar in the folders when completed.
• Spelling: list 29.  As usual:  homework due Wednesday, trial test on Thursday, final test Friday. 
• Health test Tuesday. (Study guide home on previous Friday)
• Language test Wednesday.
• History test Wednesday. (study guide home on Monday)
• No Bible memory verse quiz this week.

Week of March 20

  Announcements and reminders:

• We're now into the fourth nine weeks! Report cards will come home early in the week.
• Friday, March 31 at 10 AM - Easter egg hunt at Brown House!  We will need donations of stuffed plastic eggs from each family, please.
• Also Friday:  class Easter party in the afternoon. More on this later.
• April 3-10:  Easter Break (Return on Tuesday, the 11th)

• Reading homework this week: Secret in the Maple Tree, chapter 8, out loud to an adult.  Since students are reading entire chapters, they have the whole week to do it.  Please initial the calendar in the folders when completed.
• Spelling: list 28.  As usual:  homework due Wednesday, trial test on Thursday, final test Friday.  
• Math test Friday.
• Bible memory verse quiz on Friday: John 20:29 b:  "...blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."

• Registration for Pre-k and kindergarten for 2023/2024 is now open.  Also, reenrollment forms have gone home.
• March 16: end of 3rd nine weeks

• Science test Monday.  This will be the last one, then we move into the health book.  They will still be working on their animal notebooks, though. 
• Language quiz Tuesday over plural and possessive nouns.
