Week of February 20

Announcements and reminders:

  • Monday, Feb. 20:  no school
  • Tuesday, Feb. 21: spring pictures, and end of basketball season party

Academics this week, subject to change, as needed:
  • Reading homework this week: Secret in the Maple Tree, chapter 4, out loud to an adult.  Since students will be reading entire chapters, they have the whole week to do it.  Please initial the calendar in the folders when completed.
  • Spelling: list 24.  This is a review list, and since we have a short week, they will still have homework on Tuesday, but we will use list words to compose sentences during the school day that I will grade instead of a test.
  • Math test Wednesday.  If your student can answer addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts quickly, the math tests will be a lot easier for them.
  • Bible memory verse quiz on Friday:  "My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever."   Psalm 73:26
  • Students have been working on their animal notebooks, adding pictures to each section of mammals, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and invertebrates.  They will write reports on one animal in each section, and I will assign quiz grades for each.  We are working on these during class time, but I wanted you to be aware.
