Week of April 4

Hello, everyone! We had a little April Fool's Day silliness with a handmade paper spider on my desk, a few jokes, and Mrs. Brammer's clown nose.
I'm sure we're all counting down the days until summer, but there are still many things to learn.  Here are a few bits of information:

  • Our class will attend the "Too Good for Drugs" program on Wednesdays.
  • April 14 (next Thursday) will be our Easter party and early release day.
  • School resumes on April 25.
  • May 25 is the last day for students.

Academics:

  • Language test Monday.  We went over the material in class, and the students have a workbook page in their folders with some of the material.
  • This week's reading homework is chapter 8 of Secret in the Maple Tree.  In order to finish on time, I am reading a chapter to them on Fridays.
  • Wednesday: quizzes in history and health  (study guides will come home)
  • Friday: memory verse quizMark 8:31 (KJV) "And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again."  Don't worry:  I'll provide a word bank this time.
  • Spelling is list 28.  I will grade numbers 1-23, as usual, with the definitions of the vocabulary being three points each.  I hope they do as well this week as they did on list 27.
  • Friday:  math test
  • Monday, April 11: history test
